General Marketing Strategies to Fuel Your Business Growth
Growing a business isn't easy. First, you need a viable idea.
From there;
Whether you're peddling products, services or information, getting
the word out has become increasingly burdensome. And without the
right marketing strategies to fuel your growth, churning a profit
and staying afloat is virtually impossible.
However, identifying the right strategies to market your business is
often likened to rocket science. How do you get your message to the
right audience and do it effectively? How do you boost visibility
and increase sales while sustaining a profit with a converting
offer? Today, with so much vying for our attention from social
media, to search engine optimization, blogging and pay-per-click
advertising, it's easy to see why most are ready to pull their hair
out.
The truth is that what got you to this point in business is likely
not going to get you to the next level. Most entrepreneurs are so
busy working "in" their businesses that they fail to work "on" their
businesses. As a result of dealing with the day-to-day operations of
a company that includes customer hand-holding, supply-chain demands
and more, we often neglect to wield the right marketing strategies
that will help fuel our business's growth.
What does it take to do that? Simply put, you have to take a step
back for a moment. You have to analyze and understand the basic
mechanics of your message and how to effectively reach a larger
audience without losing your shirt. No matter what marketing
strategy you use, if you don't have an effective sales funnel and
optimize your conversions, you'll just be throwing money away.
What are the best marketing strategies to use?
Most businesses are faced with a conundrum. There's a clear need for
increased visibility to drastically improve sales. But in order to
get more visibility, businesses have to spend more money. When that
well runs dry, what are you supposed to do?
There is no obvious and clear answer to that question that covers
all situations. But there are things that can be done today, right
now, even on a shoestring budget, to reach more customers without
breaking the bank. However, it all boils down to time. If you lack
the money, you sure better have the time to put in the sweat equity.
Either way you slice it, as long as the fundamentals of a sound
business are there and you're working tirelessly to build an
authentic relationship with the consumer by sincerely trying to add
value, then there are 10 go-to strategies you can use to market any
business online. |

Fyna
Foods was founded by Arthur & Marjorie Campbell
in the 1940s; with Marjorie credited as the
creator of the name “Fyna”- as a play on the
word “Finer”. The business was initially a jam
making venture run by Marjorie in the family’s
back yard. Eventually the business outgrew the
back yard and moved into premises at 234 Church
Street, Richmond before moving to 40 Yarra
Street, Abbotsford. It wasn’t long before
expansion saw the business move again to 52a
Lyndhurst Street, Richmond and later 284 St
George’s Road, North Fitzroy in 1980 before
moving into our current purpose built home at
70-74 Star Crescent, Hallam in the South East of
Melbourne in 2000. |

From
our original bite size choc chip cookies to our
new plant-powered cookie dough, our journey has
been full of baking adventures, good food and
great people. “I think I’ve just purchased a
bankrupt cookie business…” It was 2004 and
taking on a business was the last thing on my
mind. Busy managing my legal practice from our
small home office and distracted with a
breastfeeding baby I nodded and replied, “That’s
nice, darling.” |

We
could tell you that when Sarah and Emmet Condon
started Remedy in their kitchen they had no idea
what lay ahead. But we’d be lying. They had an
inkling. They’d been making kombucha for a
while. Their kids were into it. Their mates were
hooked. Family members were dropping by more
often for a taste.
So,
they took a chance. Some might call it a massive
risk. They had a young family. No jobs to fall
back on. Some savings, a couple of credit cards.
Entrepreneurial know-how, but no experience in
the food and drinks world. What they did have
was big aspirations and a simple belief. Oh and
– perhaps most importantly – a tasty kombucha
brew and a whole lotta guts.
They
wanted to do something good. Shake things up.
Make it right. They knew that healthy could also
be tasty and easy. They believed we all deserve
to know that too. While they’ve moved on from
the kitchen bench, Remedy is still made the
old-school way: in small batches, long-aged
brewed for 30 days. |

Chocolate Grove purchased Jardine Confectionery
in 2006 which gave us a second lower priced
brand of boxed chocolate macadamias to offer
customers. By 2008 our export sales were
increasing rapidly but the global financial
crisis in late 2008 saw the end of that cycle.
Exports almost disappeared and the overall
effect of the GFC was that sales across the
board fell by more than 50%. This meant taking
on board some cost reduction measures and
concentrating on increasing sales within
Australia. Our strategy was to increase the
product range to over fifty lines and to offer
contract manufacturing. We now supply a wide
range of industries including the recent
addition of health products in chocolate. |

Our
beer is made from pure mountain water, blended
with the finest selection of malt, hops and
yeast to produce beers of exceptional taste and
quality. The malted grains are made into an
infusion, boiled up with hops, and fermented.
Some beers are fermented quickly and mature in a
matter of weeks (ales, wheat beers and stouts)
whilst others have weeks of fermentation and
several months maturation.
We
chose to take on the old butter factory site in
Mirboo North, Gippsland for good reason – its
abundant supply of natural water – purity and
mineral balance of the water is an essential key
to making great beer and that is just what this
beautiful part of the world offers us. |
